1.5m x 15m Marine Rubber Airbag Launching Ships in Shipyards
Marine rubber airbag typically has a body of cylindrical shape and two conical heads, one at each end. At each head end, there is a metal bushing as a mouth for air inflation and the plug with a ring. Marine air bags are widely used for lifting and launching ships and boats in shipyards, specially for medium and small shipyards alongside rivers and seasides in Asian and American countries. Marine air bags are often called ship launching air bags that indicate the most popular application of these heavy duty air bags is for ship launching. It is estimated that more than 80 percent new built ships who’s DWT below 60,000 are launched by marine air bags.
Key Features of Lifting and Launching Ships Marine Air Bags:
(A). Flexible in various launching projects: Launching ship air bags can be made to be specified sizes and layers as per the requirement of different launching projects.
(B). Easy Operation: The operation of launching vessels with rubber air bags is releatively easy, just laying out and inflating the air bags to lift the vessels and roll them to the water.
It has not strict requirement on slipway conditions. Ship launching can be executed even in tough conditions.
(C). Durable and recycled: Marine Airbags can be used many times repeated.
(D). Less cost: As marine air bags can be used repeatedly and its cost is not high, launching or docking ships with marine airbags can save much cost for shipyards or ship owners.
The Size and Specifications of Rubber Marine Air Bags
According to different launching requirement, marine rubber air bags can be made into various sizes and layers accoding to the ship size and weight and the launching or docking conditions.

How to Launch Vessels with Marine Air Bags
Below is the general process of launching ship with marine rubber airbags.
I. Get enough suitable air bags ready
II. Level and Clean the launching slipway to make sure no nails or sharp stones
III. Tie the ship to the winch with steel wire
IV. Lay airbags under ship bottom at suitable locations
V. Inflate the airbags to lift the ship away from the blocks and remove the blocks
VI. Lower the lifting height properly by releaseing some air
VII. Slowly release the wire and roll the ship slowly backward to the water

Material and Construction of Luhang Marine Launching Air Bags
The marine air bag wall is constructed with layers of rubbers plates. The inner layers are reinforced with nylon cord net. These layers support the airbag with bearing strength when the airbag is inflated. More layers the airbag wall has, greater strength the airbag has. And the nylon cord net plays a critical role in strength. Besides the cord reinforced layers, there is one extra layer without cord net outside the wall. This rubber layer has a function of anti-wear and anti-aging. To maximize the function of the inner layers and the exterior layer, the rubber material is specially optimized with suitable mixing formulas.

Our Markets and Customers of Marine Air Bags
Thanks to the flexibility of marine air bags for ship lifting and launching, our marine air bags are mainly used in shipyards in Indonesia, Malaysia, Philipines, Vietnam where there are many medium shipyards with no shipbuilding wharfs. In recently years, more and more American barge owners use them to launch and docking large barges in their shipyards alongside inland rivers. Some shipyards in Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil are starting to apply marine air bags for their launching work.
